After a long and successful 31 year career coaching basketball at the high school level, Earl Schunk is taking his talents to D'Youville. Schunk informed me today that he has accepted a position at the independent Buffalo college as both the school's Assistant Director of Athletics and Head Coach of the Men's Basketball team.
Schunk leaves Tapestry Charter after coaching there for one season and leading the Thunderhawks to the Class C sectional final. Prior to that, Schunk coached the Grover Cleveland Presidents for 14 seasons.
Tony Williams, the Thunderhawks JV coach last season, will take over for Schunk at Tapestry as the varsity's head coach.
