Wow...the South roster is quite stacked. North very strong as well, of course, but just so much offensive firepower on South, along with great defensive guys like White, Bailey and Glover.

The underclassmen game should be good...it may seem like the East will be overmatched besides Sam and to some extent Brown, but there are some lesser known players who have some strong talent. Carey and Price, in particular. Carey was very impressive as a freshman this year even though GI was usually overmatched team-wise. Price was brought up to varsity midway through the year and showed very good flashes...definitely in the Bailey mould of PG. Both should have breakout years next year.

Are there box scores available for these games?

They were in the paper the following day. Just saw on facebook that Kyle Kobis of Timon will be going to a boarding school in Mass called Berkshire School.

Thanks. are the box scores on line? I do not have access to print edition?

It's not boarding school, but yes Kobis is going to Berkshire in MA.

Also, Jordan Williams has now "officially" committed to playing ball at Niagara University, so he's staying home. The paperwork is all in.

So when I google Berkshire School and it says "A coeducational 9-12 boarding school" that means it's not a boarding school right?

Matt Hart and Adam Weir played together in the EBC tourney alongside Joe Montroy and Joe Zera (also CHS alums) and defeated Comerford, Fran Snyder, and Kyle Husband.

Sounds like Hub needs to stick to coaching.

Hart and Weir new blood at EBC. Add them to the list of notables that have played there over many years.

What is EBC?

Elgredge Bicycle Club, small club in Tonawanda, at 17 Broad Street. I believe championship game for the open division is Tuesday night. Let ya'll know.

Finals of the winners bracket for the old guys is tomorrow night. Everyone should get the experience of playing there at least once. This actually marks the 40th year for me.

If the walls could talk at EBC....!

CC - I think you would love this place, if you have never been there and it is just on the border of Niagara County so not too far of a drive. Would be an interesting night out.

All State Teams. Congrats to all the locals who were selected!

Herlan, what time do you play tomorrow? CC I will probably be there, definitely will be there for the open championship game.

630

I would watch Herlan play too, but I have something more entertaining to do; watch the grass grow! Sorry Coach! :-)

Not a problem GB, however, if you had said you were going to watch paint dry, then I would have been upset.

Good one! I always appreciated your sense of humor Coach.

Proud to announce on monday Taijay Williams will sign his NLI to D2 Mansfield University in PA. Best of luck,

why was taplin not in the all star game for sohp or younger?

Championship night at the EBC tonight. 50+ game is at 6:30, and the open division at 8. Turner Battle made an appearance last night and led his team to victory. Now it is win or go home in the open division. Matt Hart scored 20 in the first half but was held to 4 in the second half when Battle guarded him.

Ran across this news item today:

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Basketball Rules Committee voted down a shot clock proposal at a recent meeting. The proposal would have made the shot clock a universal rule in high school basketball across the nation.

I bring it up because I know it has been an issue with some WNY coaches in regard to playing teams in Pennsylvania, where there is no shot clock.

It seems the national rules body expressed concern that the cost of installing shot clocks (up to $5,000) would be a hardship for many schools.

Actually they changed the time for the 50+ game to 7pm, so there wouldn't be a long break in between.

No shame in TB locking you up. Interested to here how Hart and Weir do in the title game tonight.

Weir dropped 34 and Hart had 29 as their squad won by 2 in overtime. Very chippy game. Joe Montroy provided a presence down low for the champions, while Brian Lombardo hit a clutch jumper in overtime (only points of the game).

Not sure how many points Battle had, but he played Hart tough. There was a boy named Murphy on TB's team, played at one of the Williamsville schools and then at RIT. Nice player, but if he would only shut his mouth.

Both Adam and Matt both held up well against older competition in an arena that is different than any they have probably played in before this tourney. Adam hit the game winner with about 4 seconds left in OT.

wow we need some hoops, talking eldridge club whoa. june 15-16 nice hs tourney at Daemen alot of top locals playing

Who is playing in that? And don't forget about the Gus Macker June 2nd and 3rd.

I am also interested in finding out more about that Daemen tournament. I assume it is just high school players. Is there an admission cost to attend? Can this site give us some further info? Thanks.

Canisius, olean,mNF,St. Joes Mckinley among the 20 teams
