McKinley 77, Williamsville South 46
Daequan Warren scored a game-high 24 points, Lovell Smith scored 23 points, and Marcus Morris added 14 points, as McKinley, the defending Class A1 champs, advanced to the championship game for a second straight season and a seventh in eight seasons (the year they did not, they played in Class AA). The Macks broke open a three-point game at the start of the second quarter and third quarters, when they rattled off runs of 16-3 and 17-6.
Hutch-Tech 67, Sweet Home 47
The Engineers put the game away before Sweet Home even realized it had started, jumping out to early leads of 17-2 and 28-9 on the top seed in Class A1. Jovohn Owens led Tech with 20 points, Aymanuel Radford scored 16 points, Roman West finished with 14 points, and Tim Whitehead added 10 points.
Hutch-Tech advances to its first sectional title game since 2003, where they'll face Yale Cup foe, McKinley for a third time. The Macks took the first two meetings of the season by 34 and 38 points.
Class C1
Middle College 56, Randolph 55
The Class C state finalists from a season ago are a win away from a third Class C1 title in four seasons after surviving a battle with the Cardinals of CCAA II. Keir Anderson led the Kats with 21 points, while TJ Scott scored 16 points.
Oracle Charter 71, Barker 57
The Phoenix extended their win streak to 19 games and got four players into double figures as they advanced past the round where their season ended a year ago. Gerald Bibbs scored a game-high 20 points, Jamarr Cunningham scored 17 points, and Eric Waters & Julius Allen each registered 16 points on the night. Oracle Charter will face Middle College in the night cap of three sectional title games on Friday, in a highly anticipated Class C1 final.
Jake Haight scored 17 points to lead Barker.
