The seventh state rankings of the season have been released by the NYSSWA. Below are the WNY teams that made the cut:
Class A
Canisius #5
McKinley #17
Amherst #20
Class B
East #4
Olean #5
Class C
Middle College #7
Barker #14
Class D
Sherman #4
** According to the rankings:
- Canisius is still ahead of Albany Academy, the defending Class A Federation Champs who own wins over Long Island Lutheran and Bishop Ludden
- East's losses to McKinley & Franklin were viewed as better losses than Olean's pair to Canisius & Greece Athena. Either way, look for East to fall significantly after the loss this week at Middle College.
- Middle College drops five spots, and is now behind two teams from Section V
- Sherman's loss to Randolph cost them a state championship as they fall three spots
