(Master Radford finishes for Timon in transition with a #BOOM)
Timon 56, Park 55
For a second consecutive season in South Buffalo, Timon came into its game against Park as the underdog and left with an exciting one-point win. Just like last year, the Tigers saved their best for last and erased a big fourth quarter deficit. In 2017, they trailed by nine in the final frame and this season, there was an 11-point gap on the scoreboard when the fourth quarter started. Timon outscored the Pioneers 19-7 over the final eight minutes, allowing just a pair of field goals. Julian Cunnignham & Master Radford was outstanding in the win, and Tahron Goudelock came through in the clutch with some timely shooting.
Timon 12 - 13 - 12 - 19 = 56
Park 12 - 11 - 25 - 7 = 55

Coaches Quotes
Jason Rowe - Timon
Immediate reaction
I'm excited for the kids, Park is a very good team. It was a great game and overall I'm happy.
On Park's strong third quarter
They got out, they ran, they did what they do well, and we didn't do a good job stopping it. They hit the boards really well all game, but especially in the third quarter. We didn't make them miss or make a lot of mistakes.
On how Timon was able to come back
We fought, simple & plain, we persevered...one thing about this group is they're battle tested. We've had pretty much every type of game in our first 11 and this is something we've experienced.
On Julian Cunningham
Being a point guard myself, I've been challenging him. Every single game I challenge him to make the team better & make himself better. He did an excellent job today of being a point guard and leading us today.
On Master Radford
He's our senior leader and that's why at the end of the game I go to him all the time.I told him during the timeout to go get us a basket and he delivered.
On Tahron Goudelock coming through late and hitting important 3-pointers
I tell the guys all the time, don't get caught up in your missed shots. It's timing, you can go 1 for 10, but if you make that big one when we need it, everyone forgets about the rest.
Rich Jacob - Park
On what Timon did well / Park didn't do well in the fourth quarter
I think they executed their half court game and were patient to get shots and knocked them down. Sometimes we rushed in our own end when we didn't need to and against a well coached team like Timon, you're going to pay. They played disciplined and created second efforts for themselves.
On how Park built its lead in the third quarter
I thought we played better half court defense, which triggered our running game and we started making better decisions with the ball.
Random Smatterings
- The Player of the Game could have gone to either Julian Cunningham or Master Radford, both were outstanding. I went with Juice because he was aggressive right from the onset, controlled the game from his position at the point, and set Radford up for some big finishes.
- Julian Cunningham improved to 4-0 against Park over the last two seasons. He won three games against the Pioneers playing with St. Francis last season.
- Tahron Goudelock was scoreless in the first half, but his three 3-pointers, particularly the two in the final stanza during the comeback, were vital in the victory. John Shields also came through with a big trey in the fourth quarter.
- If Timon doesn't soar in the state rankings after this victory over NYS Class A #4 Park, I'm launching an investigation. After winning the tournament at Rush-Henrietta that included Irondequoit & UPrep, along with this win, the credentials are there. I plan to ignore the loss to Will South when I vote locally this weekend.
- There were a few good games to pick from last night. So glad I didn't miss that one...I'd have been pretty disappointed with myself.
- Dan Scott gave Park its most consistent performance of the evening at both ends.
- Julian Eziukwu works his butt off for the Pioneers and was certainly a factor in the game battling inside against Timon's Twin Towers (Radford & Alero World).
- The National Anthem they play at Timon by the school's music director gets me fired up every time.
- The hoodie movement during pregame warm-ups is in full effect!

Cardinal O'Hara beats St. Mary's last night! St. Marys was 1 of 3 H.S Boys Basketball teams that were undefeated in the WNY area. Give the boys at Cardinal O'Hara some recognition and credit for a job well done.

Over rated " then I guess this win is no big deal ! Lol

Is Master the new "best big man" in WNY with the departure of Joe Jones? What does that list look like ranked?

Radford is no Joe jones ! What does his offer sheet look like is a better question

Mater Radford’s game Is far superior to what I saw of Joe Jones last year. He’s a quiet leader on that team who fears no one in the paint. He’s only gotten better as the year has progressed, taking fewer fouls. He started off slow this game, but quickly turned that around. His only rival, in the paint, in the Monsignor Martin Association is probably Mr. Bradley of the team on Delaware Ave.
