The Buffalo eXtreme is pleased to announce that they will honor Alex Nwora at their season opener on Saturday, November 4th. Since taking over the SUNY Erie men's basketball program during the 1999-2000 season, Alex Nwora has turned the Kats into a regional power on the hardwood. He has guided the Kats to eleven 20-win seasons, including six straight from 2007 to 2013. The Kats have a 434-191 record during Nwora’s time in the Flickinger Center, making him the winningest coach in the program’s history.
Winning Multiple NJCAA Region III Championship and 5 years at the NJCAA National Tournament, highly successful on the international basketball scene, Coach Nwora has also served as the head coach of the Nigerian and Cape Verde Men’s National Teams. In 2019 at the World Games in China, the Nigerian National team qualified for the 2021 Olympics. Coach Nwora as a coach and his son, Jordan, of the NBA Indiana Pacers together represented Nigeria in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Coach Nwora directs the Jordan Nwora Foundation providing camps and community outreach locally and across the world.
