The Classic couldn't have had a much better finale, as these two top five large schools treated fans to a thrilling and up tempo contest. The game featured 14 lead changes and was tied seven times, including a down-to-the-wire finish. The Wolverines had a 52-45 lead in the latter stages of the fourth quarter, before an 11-0 Park run that included three 3-pointers in 90 seconds. The game was tied at 56-56 in the final minute, before tightly contested possessions resulted in trips to the line for both squads. With 5.4 seconds left in the game and the Wolverines trailing 59-57, they had one last chance for the game-winner, but saw a 3-pointer rim out at the buzzer that dashed the Falls hopes.

Maceo Jack had one of the best quarters of basketball you'll see to start the game, scoring 19 of North's 21 points in the first quarter, on a combination of 3-pointers and tough drives to the basket with off-balance finishes. The Spartans led throughout after their quick start, taking a 13-point lead into the break and an eight-point advantage heading into the fourth. However the Warriors got back into the game behind Dom Welch, in an exciting final frame that went back-and-forth. Cheektowaga got within a basket twice in the game's final minute and trailed by three with possession and just eight seconds left, but went to the basket instead of attempting the tying trey and lost by a point.

The Tigers took a few minutes to get their offense going, but midway through the first quarter, TC Brown hit a 3-pointer to give his team a 6-4 lead, and Amherst would never trail the rest of the way. The Tigers took a seven-point lead into halftime and extended to a 15-point lead in the third quarter, getting St. Bonaventure commit, Amadi Ikpeze going with baskets from him on three straight possessions, with two being three-point plays. Kearney mounted a late comeback and got to within two points in the fourth quarter, but Amherst was able to close the game out. Brown eclipsed the 1,000 point plateau in the game, which was the most quality nonleague win for Amherst in several years.

The Hawks came out strong and got eight points from freshman Justin Hemphill in the first quarter. O'Hara had a 15-13 lead early in the second quarter, before the wheels came off. The Hawks managed just 18 points over the game's final 20 minutes, as Saint Paul ran away with the game.

Vaughan got easy baskets in transition at the start, as it capitalized on Starpoint misses & turnovers, and built an early 10-point lead after one. In the second quarter, Vaughan connected from downtown five times, including a buzzer-beater from Andrew Nembhard, to take a 49-28 lead at the half and maintain its sizable lead for the duration.

After quickly falling behind by 10 points in the early going, Niagara Falls battled back against the nationally-ranked Canadian power and showed just how mentally tough they had become. Despite sophomore sensation Andrew Nembhard consistently setting up his teammates for Vaughan, the Wolverines continued to find answers offensively and were down by just a point late in the third quarter.

Ryan Guay came out blazing for the Wildcats, drilling four 3-pointers in the opening quarter and giving his team the early advantage. Wilson heated up in the second quarter and the two teams began trading treys and went to halftime knotted at 26 apiece. A tight contest throughout saw Wilson gain the lead for good midway through the third quarter, as Jonah Miller connected from downtown. The Lakemen took a one-point lead into the fourth quarter and made more plays down the stretch to put Depew away at the end.

After being tied at halftime, the Falcons began pulling ahead in the third quarter and gained a seven point advantage. However, Niagara Catholic mounted a 15-0 run that began late in the third quarter and carried into the final stanza, as the Patriots were able to hold Niagara Wheatfield without a field goal for over eight minutes. Niagara Catholic built as much as a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter and handed the Falcons their first loss of the early season after they had started 2-0.
